This collection of photographs gives us a peek into to extensive activities of Yitzchak Ben-Zvi, the first President of the State of Israel, and his wife, Rachel Yanait, during theyears of his presidency. In this collection arephotographs from the ceremony of the inauguration of the "Ohel Sarah"institutionin memory of Sarah Leshinsky (the sister of Rachel Yanait and Batya Leshinsky), in Emek Yizrael; the visit of the President and his wife toKibbutz Degania Bet and their participation in the Passover Seder; a visit to thesettlements in the Jerusalem Corridor (Maoz Zion); a meeting with the top management of Bank Le'umi in Tel Aviv; a visit to the archeological digs in Mazada and Ovdat;a visit to an Israeli naval base including the submarine division; a visit to the Israel Aircraft Industries; observing the military training of the Jerusalem Division in the Central Command and a visit to the Nuclear Institute at Nachal Sorek. The album also includes pictures of citizens visiting the President's house on the 'Open Day' during Chol Hamoed Succot; theappointment of judges, the visit of diplomatic staff and members of different ethnic and religious groups. There are also pictures from the ceremony of the transfer of the remains of Rabbi Chaim Yoseef David Azulay from Italy to burial in Israel and the visit to the exhibition of the Research of the Hebrew Language and photographs of the President and his wife when they went on a sailing trip to the Mediteranean countries on the boat 'Jerusalem'.
